Sachin Tendulkar’s IPL 2022 XI
Jos Buttler, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya (captain), David Miller, Liam Livingstone, Dinesh Karthik, Rashid Khan, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal.
Captain
Tendulkar chose Pandya as the captain of his team.
“HARDIK WAS THE STANDOUT CAPTAIN THIS SEASON. HE WAS CLEAR IN HIS MIND, PROACTIVE. I ALWAYS SAY THAT DON’T REGRET, CELEBRATE. IF YOU ARE ABLE TO CELEBRATE, IT MEANS THE CAPTAIN IS OUTSMARTING THE OPPOSITION AND THAT IS WHAT HARDIK DID,”
TENDULKAR SAID.
Opening Batters
The former Mumbai Indians captain then said that he would choose Jos Buttler and Shikhar Dhawan as his openers as he wanted a left-right combination up top.
Middle Order Batters
For the middle order, Sachin then chose Lucknow SuperGiants KL Rahul at no.3. Rahul was the second-highest run-scorer behind Buttler with 616 runs in 15 innings.
Pandya then came in at No.4. for the brute power and his beautiful bat swing. Along with that his quick bowling spells will only be a bonus.
Lower Middle Order
David Miller then came in next for his stellar form this season and because Tendulkar wanted to keep the left-right combination going.
The big-hitting duo of Liam Livingstone and Dinesh Karthik came next, with Tendulkar choosing the latter as his wicketkeeper. Livingstone can hit sixes, at number 6 that is a good position. His bowling will also come in handy.
About Karthik, Tendulkar said When a batter is calm and has the ability to play 360, he is dangerous. Dinesh along with keeping, would also fit in the role of finisher.
Bowlers
In the bowling department, Sachin chose a pair of spinners and a pair of pacers. Tendulkar chose Rashid Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal as his main spinners. Rashid Khan into the fold also brings in an extra batting cushion at the lower end.
Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah were chosen as main pace bowlers by him.
Ahmedabad:”It was a season of thrilling cricketing action and the finale at the well-decked up Narendra Modi stadium on Sunday night was the icing on the cake. Despite the pandemic, the tournament was a massive hit as fans were back in the stadiums.
Now that the season is over, it is time to review the performances. While most ex-cricketers and experts have already picked their best XI for IPL 2022, former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar revealed his XI as well.”
